FORMAL CONCERT ATTIRE

At Ventura High School, we take all of our performances seriously and strive to look as professional as possible. Below are the guidelines for the attire that is required for music department performances, based on performance groups.  Students may choose to purchase these items, or they may borrow and check out these items from the music department using the links towards the bottom of this page.

WIND ENSEMBLE, WIND ENSEMBLE HONORS, STRING ORCHESTRA HONORS AND STRING ORCHESTRA

Your choice of either a black tuxedo set or a black velvet top and skirt combination.  Tuxedo sets include a black tuxedo jacket and pants, black bow tie, cummerbund (optional) and white tuxedo shirt.  Use the links below for more information regarding the specific uniform items required, or to purchase them online.   

STUDIO JAZZ AND INFORMAL PERFORMANCES

Solid jewel tone or neutral color dress or black slacks with single jewel tone or neutral top and dress shoes.

OR

Black slacks with jewel tone or neutral color shirts/ties and dress shoes.

BORROW:

Limited sizes and quantities of tuxedo sets and blouse/skirt combinations may be borrowed from the music department.  These uniforms are checked out at the beginning of the school year, and should be returned at the end of the school year, dry cleaned and in the condition they were received. 

We ask families to make a uniform use donation to help offset the cost of annual routine maintenance and replacement of the school uniforms we loan to students each year.  The suggested uniform use donation for skirt and blouse is $35, and tuxedo ensemble is $50.
